I'll never feel happy again.

After the first diagnosis of cancer, I went through this period of time where I thought I would never feel happy again. I no longer experienced feeling joyful. I couldn't feel anything really, except anger and fear. When a friend of mine, also a cancer survivor, looked at me and said you will feel happy again, I was completely skeptical, believing that feelings of happiness were not going to permeate the darkness. I did find a way through the darkness and found joy on the other side. My hope is that you are able to connect with your joy as you journey down the winding cancer road. Along the way, notice the sunflowers on the side of the road, they will direct you towards the light and bright sun.
